28th September 2018 was Mrs Beryl Trent’s 100th birthday! Beryl had a lovely day at Place Farm where she has lived since March 2016. She had a visit from the Mayor of Brighton, Dee Simson, who stopped for a cup of tea and found out more about Beryl’s wonderful life. She also opened her telegram from the Queen.

Later in the afternoon Beryl had many friends and family visit and we enjoyed some reminiscence music from the Melody Men who are regular visitors to Place Farm House. They adapted and wrote a song to celebrate Beryl’s birthday. Beryl’s nephew then made a toast to Beryl’s day and her amazing life and we enjoyed from food and importantly, the delicious cake.

A write up of an interview with Beryl about her life can be found in our Life Stories page here. An article published in The Argus can be found here.
